La Liga president Javier Tebas has confirmed that Real Madrid have enough time to recover in time to play their season opener against Osasuna on Tuesday, August 19, after La Liga rejected Los Blancos’ request to postpone the game, Mundo Deportivo reported on Friday.

“We have given our options, that is, there is enough time to recover for the rest as agreed,” Tebas said. 

The La Liga president also blamed FIFA, saying: ‘The problem is not with the league, but with competitions like the Club World Cup, which have been unilaterally scheduled, and which Fifpro (the players’ union) has already complained about.’

Tebas also pointed to other clubs facing similar scheduling challenges, saying: ‘PSG will play the Super Cup final on August 13 and on August 17 they will start their league.’
