Women’s Professional Golf Association organized the “Singha-SAT Thai LPGA Ladies Open” with a total prize money of 2 million baht from July 23-25. There were 101 female golfers competing, 71 professional golfers and 30 amateur golfers. The champion of the professional golf category will receive 260,000 baht in prize money.

The first round of the competition was rained down all day since morning. It turned out that Ella Galitsky, a local amateur golfer ranked 10th in the world, started with 1 under par 71, making only one under par, leading alone with Pro Poon-Ornicha Konsanthia, 28 years old from Lopburi, following with an even par 72. Ella Galitsky, a student

at the University of South Carolina, USA, revealed after taking the lead in the first round that “Today, the game was to make par first, hit to the fairway, hit to the green, trying to make two putts. If the putt goes in, it goes in. Today, the course was very wet. I’ve experienced this many times in America, so I prepared well. There was no pressure. I got to meet my friends and didn’t expect anything. Just warming up because I haven’t competed in a long time.”

While in joint third place with a score of 1 over par 73, there were 4 people: Pro Fa-Sithanath Singhanath, Pro Wad Phaewchimphlee, Pro Khaophot-Patamawadi Kittikorn, and Nat-Kritchanya Kaophattanasakun, an amateur golfer for the Thai national team.  (gameinter88)
