Veteran wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud believes the Atlanta Falcons can make it to the Super Bowl with second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. taking over as the team’s starting quarterback in 2025, according to NFL Network. sudpung168

“I’m very excited and I wouldn’t be surprised,” McLeod said. “I’ve watched (Penix) practice every day for the past year and I’m looking forward to him coming into his senior year, his successful year and seeing what it’s like to get to the Super Bowl.”

Penix, the former No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 draft, showed flashes of potential after stepping in for Kirk Cousins late last season, starting three games and going 2-1 as the Falcons finished 8-9, the franchise’s seventh consecutive season with more losses than wins and a playoff absence since 2017.

Throughout his rookie season, Penix threw for 775 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in five games, while McCloud caught 62 passes for 686 yards last season, a career-high.  ( sudpung168 )
