Atletico confirmed the news in a statement on the club’s social media.
Several Serie A teams have previously been interested in the right-back, including Juventus and Roma, but Milan are the most interested.
Last week, they also tried hard to get the player to undergo a medical in Barcelona as the club wanted to be sure about the stability of the knee before making an official offer to Almeria.
After a medical and discussions with Max Allegri, Milan pulled out of talks and decided to focus on Strasbourg’s Gela Due instead.
It had previously been suggested that Wolves were open to signing the Spain Under-21 international.
However, Fabrizio Romano and Spanish newspaper Marca are reporting that Atletico Madrid have snatched up the swoop for Puville.

Pubil was set to join Atalanta last summer but failed to pass a medical.
