The Bears have been tracking the 27-year-old defender since January 2024 and he was originally set to join Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr for €35m.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Hanchko was denied entry to their training camp in Austria, with Al Nassr making it clear he was no longer welcome, and Feyenoord spokesman Raymond Salomon was left furious.
As news of Hanchko spread, Atletico made their move, and Fabrizio Romano now reports that the Rojiblancos have reached an agreement with Feyenoord to sign the Slovakian defender for a fixed fee of €30m plus bonuses.
The defender’s contract has also been agreed after a deal with Al Nassr collapsed.
doohee For Hanchko, he primarily plays as a centre-back, but can also play at left-back. He made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring four goals and providing four assists. ( doohee )
