New York Giants first-round rookie quarterback Jackson Dart said he’s adapting well to the Giants’ training camp after being given more freedom to play with his coaches, according to NFL Network. kuiper999
“I can definitely feel the difference from day one (Wednesday) until today,” Dart said. “It’s just that the game has slowed down a little bit as I’ve gotten more comfortable with the gameplay and the system.”
Asked if Sunday’s practice was his best performance, Dart replied: “I feel confident in the players we have and at the same time the coach gives me a lot of freedom, so I can check some things that I want and I feel like it makes me play faster and make decisions faster.”
‘I just try to take every opportunity I get, try to study as much as I can, and try to learn every second.’
Dart, the 25th overall pick in the draft, has become the second-string quarterback behind Russell Wilson, whom head coach Brian DeBoll has named as the Giants’ starting quarterback. He’s gaining experience from practice and adjusting to the ins and outs of the NFL.
“I don’t want to play like a robot,” Dart said. “I think that’s just my style of play. When I’m on the field, I have to be aggressive in every situation. The saying we have in the quarterback room is ‘aggressive but not reckless.’ So when you have a chance to take a risk, that’s what you have to do. You can’t take a risk.” ( kuiper999 )
