Fabrizio Romano reports that Wolves have closed the door on the South Korean star’s exit as the club’s board, including Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira, see him as a key part of their plans for the foreseeable future.

Wolves signed Hwang on loan from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021 and made the deal permanent the following year for a fee in the region of €17 million.

The 29-year-old can play in almost every position across the attack, having made 121 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 24 goals and providing eight assists, while Hwang has also earned 71 caps for South Korea.

Hwang’s contract at Molineux has three years remaining, with the option to extend for a further year.
